This aint your Grandma's Fur Coat

It was a terribly muggy and rainy day in Toronto on Sunday, but Fashion Week must still go on.

Opening show, IZMA also known as Izzy Camilleri and Adrian Mainella, debut their collection at LG Fashion week and boy did they ever start it out with a bang. This for sure aint your Gramma's fur coat....I have said in a previous post that I love the look of fur, so as soon as I take a look at their collection, there are so many pieces I can't turn my eyes away. Camilleri being a fur specialist really knows her **** and is clearly educated on the many types of fur, from a beaver tunic with a deep V neck, a skirt in inky black coyote and bleached coyote and red fox. She makes the possibilities endless.

As much in love as I am with this collection, I cannot help but feel like 2 of the long  fur "dress" pieces were incredibly unflattering. I can't say they are all terrible, because in fact, the fur that is used is amazing, but the execution is lacking...heavily. The models (although skinnIER) look as though they just got ship wrecked, killed a huge mammal, threw it over the shoulders and hmmm went with it.

Butttt back to the more important things. The leather. It really compliments the softness of the fur and completes the look effortlessly.

I adore that IZMA has allowed to fur to be a focal point in (really any) outfit. She has turned a plain ivory blazer into an animalistic working warrior woman ( yeah, my analogies are amazing).

There are so many pieces I love, but since I don't want you guys to spend your next forever scrolling scrolling and scrolling, I only posted my favorites :)

Voila!!!

Leave it up Toronto Fashion Week to have some fur to keep us warm in those cold months...Not everyone is lucky enough to live in Cali...

xoxo.
