Pretty in Pink

I had been looking everywhere for a Fuchsia....blazer (of course), and I found it. Thrift shopping a couple weeks ago I was lucky enough to find just that, and it happened to fit me like a glove!  My inspiration for the blazer was a Vanessa Bruno angular shoulder blazer. The hot pink colour brings a vibrant spin on a simple classic outfit.

I helped celebrate my girlfriend's birthday in Niagara and I paired my pink blazer with some skinnies, black sweetheart strapless tube and these Aldo diamond studded heels. C'est magnifique!

Writings on the Wall

What a difference a day can make

Had to title my post this statement because of an in-class assignment I did with the now birthday girl I coincidently share my name with. Shout out!

Alright, back on the whole reason for this post. I am beyond sorry. I was always one of those people who thought "I will post on my blog every single day!" but what a hypocrite I am. It's not out of laziness though, times have just been really busy and stressful. The last week has seemed really hectic with school and other commitments, but just when I had the free time, I got hit with the bug. No, not the "love bug" (thanks Jonas bros) but the sick bug. I knew it had to do with stress.

I constantly reassure people that i am not one to stress out. I am serious. Why stress? Take it easy! But I guess with all my commitments and school work load, my body just shut dowwwwwwwn.

But. Ta-da! All better now. Well on my way anyway, but I have missed my baby blog oh so much. I feel like I have so much to catch up on, but I can't go crazy, or else I will scare everyone away.

My blog is a way for me to express my thoughts and ideas for people who I imagine are listening to me. It beats listening to myself, I'll tell ya!

So, what a difference a day can make, but in this case....try, 12 days! Yikes, so instead of posting post after post and overwhelming myself, I will give a couple "this and thats" to what has been on my mind for the last little forever.

The Sads:

First and foremost. Mr McQueen. A part of me died a little I must say. It caught me completely off guard and was so tragic. Fashion has lost a remarkable soul and designer. Fashion designer Alexander "Lee" McQueen has passed on but his visions will last forever. At least, in my heart they will.

The Tunnage:

I have not gotten this song off replay on my iPod. It's a little old school but its catchy and you can't go wrong with B.I.G. It's such a degrading song, but I dont give a **** I'm no feminist!

The Pink:

I was a lucky little girl and came across this vintage baby pink blazer. Yeah, just throw it in the wardrobe with the other million blazers I own. I don't care. This blazer is getting love. I paired it with my Guy Laroche purse I talked about in my previous post. The bf thought I looked "adorable" in it. I'm still trying to work with the term "adorable". I was going for mildly sexy, so, back to the drawing board!

The Pup:

Baby Bruno. yeahhhh he aint a baby. I laugh when people say "want to meet my puppy?" and its a big ass dog and you're like, "are you kidding me? That's a dog!" But any who, this dog is adorable, he's a badass but a huge suck at heart. When I heard his name bruno, I fell in love because Cinderella is one of my favorite Disney movies, so he is my pup dedication.

The Inspiration:

V Beckham. What a little hottie-2-trottie? She graces us with the cover of Glamour magazine UK for March 2010, and I can't lie, she makes me miss my short hair so much! But, I refuse to grab the scissors in my bathroom and go edward-scissorhands on my hair. I'm pulling back!

By the way, my bff Jill @ mscuentodoesthecity.blogspot.com  just chopped off all her hair for a short do and she looks absolutely gorgeous :) Love you Jilly!

 The Project:

I have had similar Aldo leather ankle boots since they first came out a couple years ago, and since I got a brand new suede pair I wanted to do something with my Aldo ones. I am over the laces and I have plans for a DIY. I can't wait to get started. I have flowers that I have made out of silk fabric and I was thinking of adding it to the back of the shoe for a little fun and flirty accent.  Here is my little bit of inspiration.

[caption id="attachment_365" align="aligncenter" width="350" caption="The flower would be more on the back of the heel than the side"][/caption]

Ahhhhh DIY's complete my life.

The Thanks:

Thanks to everyone who compliments me on my blog. It really means a lot that not only I'm actually making sense when i write all thats going on in my noggin', but that you guys get it. Soon after starting my blog on wordpress, I realized that I wanted to switch to Blogspot but I am waiting for a time that I will be free to transfer all I have here to a new address. I hope you guys continue to follow me there too, because I still have loads to talk about.

I promise it won't be another 12 days til my next post. Toodles.

The Bye: xoxo.

Tans and Browns and Whites..Oh my!

Got a vintage Guy Laroche purse the other day ..and I cannot wait to wear it. I can picture it with the latest Zara Spring Summer 2010 collection. Here are some of my favorite looks. All are so wearable, and the fabrics seem perfectly chic and sexy when those hotter days roll on by.

They also couldn't have picked a better model to showcase the clothes. Bravo Zara!

I am already obsessed with the leather high-waisted shorts along with the flow of the  jumpsuit. The tans, browns and white palettes are what I adore for a classy outfit in the spring summer months so I already cannot wait to indulge.

Note to self: Make money now!!!!

This song is amazing and this video is even better...

Biker Chick

I am obsessed with these Dolce Vita Josey Zipper Boots. My mind just runs through my entire wardrobe and I picture everything it could go with...jeans, minis and cute floral dresses...The list is endless.

Here Ms. Kardashian has done it again, she looks effortless in pairing her Josey boots with a simple but classic outfit. Voila!

Honestly, who doesn't wanna look like they are about to get on their Harley?!?!?

Match made in Heaven

Agyness Deyn and Orland Bloom match up to create Me & City's Spring 2010 campaign. I would have never picked these two for a couple shoot, but there is no denying that these two make an awkward relationship look kinda cute. Plus, I'm a huge fan of Deyn and these looks suit her beautiful. Bloom is just adorable.

Ps. I need to get me some hand warmers...I just love the way they look!

No more Mr. Nice Guy

I have realized lately that the nicer and more helpful I get, the more I'm taken advantage of...

But what does this mean? I have seen nastier people get what they want, no questions asked and it boggles my mind. Is it attitude that gets you far in this world? I can stand my ground, but does this mean I need to be a little bitchy to get what i want and get more respect when I want it?

... I can't change who I am, and frankly I don't want to, but doing favors and always giving others what they want, have done nothing for me. People just start to expect it and don't appreciate it like they should. Plus, when I need a little something, it's harder, to ask a favor.

This is why I believe in Karma....That's what keeps me going anyway.

Someday everything will fall into its place, but until then. This is my morning rant.

Pullin for the Rookie

[caption id="attachment_315" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Tavi"][/caption]

I am all for people coming from the bottom and breaking boundaries, so when I heard of the 13- year old blogger Tavi Gevinson, better known as the Style Rookie, who is subbing in for Fashion Television's Jeanne Beker for New York Fashion Week, I got really excited to see the outcome.

I am a huge fan of Beker (hence the pic) who will be away covering the Olympics style beat, and through reading Gevinson's blog, I can only cross my fingers that she does a great job. She got off to a good start when she chose the 3 shows: Mark Jacobs, Y-3 and Alexander Wang to cover. Oh, to be young again.

[caption id="attachment_314" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Taken at Toronto Fashion Week wearing Armani Exchange"][/caption]

This girl is young, but she has already made her mark in the fashion world. While her outfits are "outrageous" as Beker would call them, and her fashion sense is very out there, there is no telling that people are listening to this intellectual doe-eyed girl.

So, take a look at this little-things blog: http://tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspot.com

Okay okay, I'm actually going to finish some school work and head to bed....toodles

Runaway Bride

I feel compelled to write a post regarding some form of bridal wear since my big sis is recently engaged and I am dying to get my hands on some planning, but for now....

Sexy Anja Rubik does country-style Wedding for Vogue Nippon in the March 2010 issue.

Now I'm a traditional girl, but if I could get away with wearing a mini white dress or a low cut down to there top for my wedding day, this is how it would look. She looks sexy and effortless in this look and I adore the floral head pieces more than anything.

Gorgeous veil

It gets really hard to motivate myself to get some school work done. Instead I'm blogging and watching "Make it or Break it". I can't help but watch a show about teenagers goign through regular life struggles while doing gymnastics...That's some juicy $hit!
